Mac Meet – March 17th, 2018

Hi everyone!

The MAC meet is next Saturday, March 17!

REGISTRATION: Don’t forget when doing your entries that this is a Short Course Meters Meet! If you are unsure of your times there is a Yards to Meters converter on the MAC website.

Online registration closes next Thursday, March 15 at 11:59. If you would rather mail the entry you can also print and mail it. The link to both is located on the Michigan Masters website below:

VOLUNTEERS: We will need counters and timers for the early session (800 Freestyle) that starts at 8:30 a.m. If you are not swimming in this event and can help out we would really appreciate your help. I have included a link below where you can sign up so we can see how many volunteers we have coming. The HS Girls’ and Boys’ teams will be coming for the later session but we always welcome family members if you have people that would like to help as well!

SNACKS: We provide snacks for all swimmers during the meet. If you were at our fall meet you may remember what a great spread of food we had! Lots of fruit, small roll-up sandwiches, healthy granola/protein type bars, water, etc. When you come to the meet we will have a table outside the office for snacks and you can put everything there.

RELAYS: After you check-in at the front door, the MAC team congregates down on the benches in the deep end of the pool. I will be letting Dianne know who is swimming in the meet based on registrations and she will be setting up the three relays. Check the three dry erase boards in the deep end of the pool to see if you are swimming in any relays or to let her know your relay availability for the meet (leaving early, coming late).

POST MEET GET TOGETHER: After the meet we will be going out to lunch and drinks. We will have a sign-up sheet down at the MAC end of the pool so that we can call ahead to let them know how many are coming. Because it is St. Patrick’s Day and some of our regular venues are going to be extremely busy we are leaning towards Duke’s which is a restaurant just north of the high school on the west side of Milford Road. We’ll have the location posted on the sign-up sheet on the day of the meet.

RAH-RAH SPEECH: Since this is our home meet we like to have the biggest turn-out of swimmers on deck. For those of you that are new to the MAC team and swim meets, this is your home pool and you’ll have lots of support on deck to help you learn how things work the first time at a meet so come try it! For those of you that are close to National Cuts, this is your last opportunity at an in-state meet before the registration deadline of April 9 and you should have lots of people there to cheer you on! Everyone else you have no excuse – you should be there and be swimming!

That’s it from me – enjoy the rest of your weekend! See you at the pool this week to get ready…Friday morning practice the pool will be switched over to meters so you can prepare!
