We need everyone we can get to bring home out 6th combined State Title!!!!!

Take note of the State Meet information below. MAC Strong gear is in and will be at the pool ready for pickup starting tomorrow morning. There are also extra MAC Strong caps available to purchase for $5.

Wednesday night’s practice has changed to 5:30-6:30pm just prior to the team dinner. Practice will be short and sweet so you’ll have plenty of time to get to the restaurant from the pool.

State Meet Dinner: Kathy Burkhart and Carol Schemanske are hosting our annual State Meet dinner. The dinner will be held this Wednesday, April 11th at 6:30 p.m. at 59 West located at 786 W. Highland Rd, Highland, MI 48457 (248.889.3004). 59 West will take separate checks and you can order from the regular menu.

State Meet:

What to wear: Besides the obvious bathing suit, bring caps (we’ll have caps to buy for $5 and Rookies to MAC will get one free), bring goggles and backup goggles, bring a few changes of clothes, towels, socks, and shoes in addition to deck shoes such as flip flops.

Food: Bring lots of snacks! Little bites here and there between warmups and events will help keep your energy level up! Here’s a quick list of suggestions: water, water bottles, gatorade or other energy drink, nuts, dried fruit, even chocolate chips can give you that little burst of energy you need, granola bars, yogurt, and anything else you enjoy for a quick snack!

-On Saturday, Michigan Masters provides a lunch during the annual meeting that is between the morning and afternoon session. All are welcome to attend for the meeting and the free lunch.

Seating: We always sit together (behind the diving boards) as a team and bring our banner so that we can mark our spot. Go ahead and bring your chair and get ready for a great meet!

Team Picture: We will take a team picture before the start of the Saturday p.m. session (between warmups and races). Finish that warmup a little early or hop out of the water but we would like to get everyone in the shot!

Relays: We will have a spot near our team seating where we will post relays. We will not find out the heat and lane until right before the events but those will be posted as well as soon as the coaches get that info from the meet director. If for some reason you are unable to compete on an assigned relay please contact Dianne and Kris so they are able to make the necessary changes. We use the Google DOC instead of Club Assist for our relays; please use the link below!

Team Buddies: For all you rookies, will typically assign buddies to each swimmer at the meet. Someone that you can go to and ask questions, someone to cheer for you and maybe count for you in a distance event, someone to keep track of you and see that you are making it to your events on time! Those will also be posted at the meet near our seating area.
MAC Strong

This meet is where we not only show the State of Michigan that MAC is here to stay but also that MAC is the team everyone wants to be on! We cheer, we support everyone on the deck, everyone at the meet our team or not. Be there for your teammates when you are not swimming, meet them, hang out with them, talk to them and for goodness sakes make sure all those awesome people swimming those long events have a counter!
