Hong Weng Honored

Honored during the meet was our very own Hong Weng! She received the Michigan Masters Lynne Award. The Lynne award was initiated in 1999 and is named after former Michigan Masters President Lynne Weir, for “courage and tenacity”, continuing to swim after a major illness or injury. Hong had a cycling accident with a deer that caused traumatic brain injury while training for Hawaii Ironman. After being in a coma for several days and in the hospital for 2 weeks, Hong was then admitted to a rehabilitation clinic followed by 4 months of PT. She returned to swimming just 4 months after the accident.

Congratulations Hong and we’re proud of your hard work! You are in inspiration to us ALL!
