The new formats will be listed in the activity guides that will be published on December 1. Shannon Loso (Director of Recreation and Community Education) and Michelle Merrick (Aquatics and Programming Manager) requested to meet with team members ahead of the Guide publishing to explain all of the membership options, new and old. Please try and make one of the 3 offered practices on Monday or Tuesday.

In the pool, we start breaststroke this week and will continue to reset BR through next week.

Upcoming Events:

April 12-14, 2019                 MI Masters State Meet Waterford Mott HS-MAC Hosts

Event Details/Results:

State Meet: State Meet 2019 is on the calendar for April 12-14 at Waterford Mott High School. Be sure to plan your vacations, snowbird travel, child’s weddings, birth of grandchildren, etc. all around this extra special event so we can have every single MAC swimmer in attendance this year! We’ve got some planning meetings this fall to line up some sponsor ideas, as well as spread out the volunteer responsibilities.  We will get all the information out to you as we get it all set with the other Huron Valley teams we are partnering with to host since this is such a large event. The Milford HS Boys’ and Girls’ Teams, Lakeland HS Boys’ and Girls’ Teams, and Huron Valley Penguins will all be working together and all proceeds will go to help replace the scoreboards and software timing systems at the two facilities. Total cost for both is almost $80,000 and we’re hoping that with a great job at state meet and some extra sponsorship opportunities we could raise up to $15,000 of that. So be sure to mark your calendars and more info to come!

From the Coaches:

Kris: Thursday Drill: By request we’ll be working on IM turns.

Jim: Want to give a shout out, to the MAC PM swimmers. Your Free, Back and Fly strokes are looking great!

Melissa:

Maria:

Dianne: We start breaststroke this week! We will be working on wrapping up our stroke reset by the Thanksgiving holiday.

On a Personal Note: MAC swimmers swam AWESOME at the South Lyon Meet on Saturday morning! There were personal bests made, new events swum, and goals achieved in individual races. It was good to see Mike Smith back in after shoulder and ankle injuries, Chris Harris, Rachel Armstrong, and Ana-Lisa Paolini back in meets, Carol Schemanske swimming well and always gaining confidence in the water, Hong Weng continually getting better, Don Kroeger and Bill Porter making it up from Toledo, Brandon Marriott swimming his second meet in a row after joining MAC, Jim Izzi swimming really well especially in the 100 fr where his improved stroke fell right in line for a 1:08, and Dana McCorkle who came out and rocked events that she didn’t even sign up for including the 100 fly powering through with her breaststroke kick! Congrats to everyone!

Barb Hertz stopped by the pool and check it out…
