Noteworthy: Everyone take a minute to read Coach Jim’s note this week. Jim is looking to start a cross-training workout for anyone interested, on Friday mornings in August (in place of practice). This would be a fantastic opportunity to not only get a little cross training but also learn what are the best exercises and or stretches to do to support your in the water training. This would also be a great to get to know your teammates dry while getting a planned workout from one of MAC’s own trained and knowledgeable coaches.

Take note of the Warmest Meet at EMU coming up this weekend on Sunday August 30! We hope to see many MAC swimmers at this meet.

Maria: This week’s open water practice will be back in Spring Mill Pond.
Congrats to those that completed the T-Rex Tri last week, as well as (in the last month or so): Hong Weng (the half at Muncie), Jim Gordon (half at Racine), Carol Schemanske (her first Tri ever!), Marilyn Reichenbach (Xterra Ionia)!
If I missed someone, let me know! Let’s celebrate those races!
Melissa: 1. Team MAC currently has 17 members signed up for Swim to the Moon on 8/20. 2 people for the 1.2 mile, 12 for the 5k and 3 for the 10k. It is now less than a month away – consider joining us – we could use more numbers for the MAC ATTACK we historically bring to this event!

2. Our group Saturday morning swims at Trout Lake continue – watch Remind for weather updates in case we need to cancel. All levels welcome!
Jim: Milford Trail/Dry Land Circuit Workout. Join me Friday mornings in August at 9:30 am, starting August 4th. We’ll meet at the Milford YMCA Parking lot and walk along the paved Milford Trail (about 2 miles), with a series circuit workout stops along the way. This workout will be a fun yet challenging way to get some cross training. All ability levels welcome. It will take about 90 minutes. The workout will be “cash donation based”, (pay whatever you’d like) benefiting the MAC Young Gun fund. Bring hydration. Any questions, please send me an email: jimjtg@icloud.com
Kris: Gone for summer season
Dianne: It is the middle of July, if I could add emojis to this text it would look a lot like the boy from home alone! Please really start watching emails and calendars for summer end practices that are coming soon. For example, Monday pm practices will be ending as of next Monday. Monday July 31 will be the last pool, pm practice offered for the summer. We also have an end date for Walnut Creek practices on Sunday August 13.

On a Personal Note: Summer is flying by and I hope that we are all having a fantastic one! I hope to see you all at a practice so I can get an update on what everyone has been up to over the last month and a half. We are coming up on the Championship meets and key open water events, please send me a note and let me know what you are working towards and your results!
