Noteworthy: Introducing MAC Lite! Are you new to the MAC family? Are you also new to swimming? Are you unsure about how to swim any of the 4 competitive strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, to freestyle)? MAC Lite could be the place for you. MAC Lite is for those adults who are interested in learning to swim for fitness, triathlon, or competition. No experience is required but a good swim suit, and goggles are highly recommended. MAC Lite will work on the stroke mechanics of all four competitive strokes and aim to slowly integrate swimmers into the 1-1/2 hour MAC practices. MAC Lite will be added to our current schedule on Monday nights from 7-7:45pm and on Friday mornings from 8:45-9:30am. MAC Lite will start tomorrow, Monday January 14, at 7:00pm.

Our MAC to Mesa challenge is off to a fantastic start! Please continue to record your mileage for each practice with the coach on deck. Coaches will total each person’s mileage for the week and log the results on our banner. I’ll update our current location/mileage starting on next week’s weekly email.

Anyone registering for the summer’s Tri Goddess events, Coach Maria has entered a team for the event. Be sure to sign up for the MAC Goddesses PW Statechamps team when registering!

For all of our evening swimmers Huron Valley Pools and Rec is now offering a Kids Club in the evenings from 5-8pm Monday-Thursday. The Club is for kids in K-5th grade and will offer swimming, a dry place to work on homework, and other activities. See attached flyer.

MAC to Mesa: Our goal will be to swim approximately 1,985 miles, together, as a team. Each week, after practice, swimmers will record your total distance for the workout rounded to the nearest ¼ mile. We will have 16 weeks to swim that distance, from the week of January 7th-April 25th!

State Meet: MAC is hosting State Meet 2019 on April 12-14 at Waterford Mott High School.

From the Coaches:

Kris: I’ll see everyone at MAC lite on Monday and Friday and Thursday’s drill will be breaststroke to coordinate with this week’s focus on 100 Breast. We have been having so much fun with the mirrors we’ll continue to use them and good news – there are 8 more one the way!

Dianne: This week we are working on racing the 100 BR, sets will be centered around this event.

On a Personal Note: Congrats to all the MAC swimmers that came out to the EMU Coldest Meet this morning: Brice Chase, Paul Chadwick, Laura Gogola, Jim Izzi, Donald Kroeger, Brandon Marriott, Elizabeth Schmaltz, Michael Schuldinger, Coleman Teach, and Maria Veen! We saw some great swims, great improvements, and hard work!
