As the story goes, I was swimming before I was walking and gave my mother many scary moments! I’ve always felt comfortable around water and joined a competitive swim team at age 7 (South Oakland YMCA Piranhas) and switched to the Oakland Live Yers (OLY) at age 10. I stopped swimming at age 14 and took a break from the sport that lasted over 20 years before getting back in pool with the Milford Tri Club at the YMCA. In the fall of 2010 I joined MAC and have been swimming with the team ever since, becoming a part-time coach in 2014.

I am a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR and a certified USMS Adult-Learn-To-Swim instructor. I teach private lessons through Huron Valley Pools and Fitness and love helping others reach their goals – whether it’s swimming with their face in the water for the first time or completing a challenging open water swim.

Outside of the pool I enjoy being a wife and mother and am an Account Manager at Marsh and McLennan Agency in Troy.
